We worked long hours in the office this week following through on humanitarian projects in all stages of development, implementation, and closure. We had our weekly calls with infield couples, prepared training for couples who will arrive soon, caught up on email correspondence, and coordinated appointments with NGO’s for future travel.
Four senior missionary couples attend the Offenbach branch with us plus a set of young sisters and young elders. The sisters teach German speaking people. The elders teach Ukrainian speaking people. What committed, delightful people they are! Sister Schwartz is from England; Sister Ray comes from Vernal, Utah; both Elder Crowley and Jorgensen were raised in Meridian, Idaho. Anna, a recent convert from Bulgaria joined us all for dinner this week.

Konigswinter
On Saturday we drove to Konigswinter to see Schloss Drachenburg. Commissioned by Baron Stephan von Sarter in 1884 as a private villa it has served as a home, a Catholic boarding school, an elitist Nazi training school and a training center for railway workers. The structure suffered heavy damage during WW2 and fell into a state of disrepair. The castle has been restored to its late 19th century style and now is a museum house. We enjoyed the beautiful interior and the stunning autumn colors outside.

We found joy this week just being together: morning walks together, working together, coming home to a warm bowl of soup together, worshiping in the temple together, enjoying the fall colors together, exploring on our Saturday field trip together, serving with wonderful people together. We even share a calling on Sundays (Ed is the organist and Deb is the chorister). We dreamed all our lives about this season in our lives and serving on missions together. We feel so blessed.
We wish you joy this week!
With love, Elder & Sister Lamb (aka Ed & Debbie, Mom & Dad, Pop Pop & Tu Tu)
