FOND FAREWELL TO FOREVER FRIENDS

We spent the last 70+ Tuesday evenings inside the Santiago temple with the Lindquists. The strength we find within these walls has kept us all going through ups and downs during our mission service.

We enjoyed our last Santiago dinner with them at our favorite French restaurant. Friendships gained in the mission field are such a tender mercy.

They returned home to Idaho this week and it doesn’t feel the same here in Chile without them. It has been a sweet season together. The Lindquists are so intertwined with our mission experience. We appreciated their listening ears and hearts, the hours of hard labor they gave at PFJ’s sessions, and the pots of soup they shared as we arrived home from trips. The places we have visited, the people we have met, and the miracles we have witnessed together are too many to name.

FALL FLOWERS

172 currently operating temples all over the world have such beautiful flowers and foliage during all the seasons of the year. 56 more are under construction, 83 more have been announced, and 4 are being renovated for a total of 315 sacred houses of the Lord. What a blessing it has been to live across the street from one here in Chile!

FAITHFUL FOUR

25 weeks ago, we began an English Connect class with 12 students. These are the faithful four that finished the class. Witnessing the improvement in their English has been inspiring. Their progress has been remarkable. Huzzah to Liliana Correa Vargas, Erika Leopoldina Ditzel Rosales, Francisca Belen Herrera Saldana, and Roger Hans Salgado Arriagada!

FUNICULAR FIELD TRIP

We took a Saturday field trip to Cerro San Cristobal. We rode the funicular to the top and took the teleferico back down. The Brulands and Shawcrofts accompanied us.

FEAST WITH FITZGERALDS

We enjoyed lunch on Saturday with Elder y Hermana Fitzgerald. They were in town to attend the Santiago temple. They have been serving as English teachers at the church Olive Farm. They return home in two weeks and will be off on their next mission in September.

FELIZ CUMPLEANOS

Hermana Lamb’s Sunday Birthday Dinner with fellow senior missionaries: Brulands, Shawcrofts, and Ruizs.

Abrazos, Élder y Hermana Lamb, (aka Ed & Debbie, Mom & Dad, Pop Pop & Tu Tu)

PS. Elder Lamb’s wrist is healing well. After visiting an orthopedist in Santiago this week, we found that it is not broken, but sprained. The cast came off and he has a splint to wear for 10 days.
