MORNING MADNESS
Meet our noisy neighbors. These slender-billed parakeets are South American parrots called Loros. They remind us of the lorikeets we saw in Australia. They spend a lot of time chattering to each other in the trees by our apartment. We are told they can imitate human speech like larger parrots.

MANY MEETINGS
This was a week full of meetings. We hosted three important collaborative meetings in our office. One with the Mayor of San Ramon, a suburb of Santiago with many social issues and needs. One with a government official who is the liaison between the president and church organizations. We wanted him to be aware of our humanitarian projects in the country and to offer our assistance in the future. And one was a meeting about the project we are planning for the early detection and treatment of stomach cancer. The Molina hospital director (the city where the project will start) and the physician heading the campaign came to our office. Other members of the team joined us on zoom. All these meetings felt very important- like we were at the right place at the right time doing what we are supposed to be doing. The projects that will potentially come from these initial meetings could have a great impact on the people of Chile.
We made two on-site visits to meet with organizations for possible humanitarian projects.
