Dear Family & Friends,
Our sweet grandson Kit Henri Ricker was born on August 28th. We arrived in North Carolina six days before he did. We enjoyed cuddling this adorable addition to our daughter’s family for three wonderful weeks. We consider it a tender mercy from our Father in Heaven that we were still in the US when he arrived. We were in baby heaven.
We heard rumors that Chile was going to open her borders on October 1st. Sure enough, we were home five days when we received a phone call to verify that and a letter saying we would be leaving for Chile on October 15th. So, we are busy packing and feel so excited to be able to enter the country after working long distance for three months. Some of our recent humanitarian projects include:
- Hospital beds for elderly residential living residents
- Kitchen appliances and bedding for a facility that houses children who have been removed by the court from their homes
- Diagnostic and treatment equipment for cancer patients
- Equipment for career workshops for homeless and emigrants (sewing machines, barber chairs, and kitchen appliances for their bakery)
We will enjoy a few more autumn hikes in the beautiful Utah mountains and then head to springtime in Santiago. We are required to quarantine for five days in our apartment upon arrival due to COVID-19 concerns.

As we contemplate our travel to South America, we recall a conversation we had several years ago when we were visiting Chile. A lady asked us where we were from. We replied, “America.” She said, “Oh, me too!” She was from South America. That changed our perspective. We already feel a kinship with our brothers and sisters there.
With love, Élder y Hermana Lamb, (aka Ed & Debbie, Mom & Dad, Pop Pop & Tu Tu)
